Last week, I wrote about Rick Rieder being a potential wildcard pick for Trump's Fed Chair nomination. The title was, Rick Rieder Under 10% is the Wildcard We Want.

At the time, Rieder was priced at 7-8% while Kevin Warsh and Kevin Hassett were favorites.

The point of the article was basically this: Trump has a history of hiring out-of-the box, “outsider-types” and I’d be surprised if he doesn’t pick an atypical Fed chair.

I also mentioned I picked up a small position at 7¢.

That position is now up roughly 180%.

While this isn't a trading letter or alert service (although requests have been made), within a week had anyone piled in they’d be sitting on similar gains right now.

Rieder's currently trading at 21¢. Warsh has surged to 60%. And Hassett—the former favorite among financial writers, strategists and “experts”, has completely fallen off the board.

To Hold or Not to Hold?

Here's the thing: there's no set timeline for when Trump will announce his Fed Chair pick.

But you can get a sense of when the announcement may be made by first, seeing if there’s a market on it.

Of course there’s a market on WHEN Trump will announce his new Chair…

Before January 22: Yes 3¢ / No 98¢
Before February 1: Yes 50¢ / No 54¢
Before February 15: Yes 82¢ / No 19¢
Before March 1: Yes 95¢ / No 7¢

The market thinks there's a coin flip chance it happens by February 1st, and near certainty by March.

All that to say: I'm the type who likes locking in 100%+ gains. I'll probably sell in the next few days and lock in the win. There's still upside if Rieder gets picked, but Warsh at 60% is hard to ignore.

I did find this X account in spanish, which ,maybe it stands out because it’s the last thing I see before I finish this post.

I don’t know this person, or who runs this account…and the account is based in Mexico. 

And I don’t know Spanish either.

Here’s what it say

I haven’t heard anything or seen anything about a certain date.

It wouldn’t surprise me if there is an announcement next week.

Trump likes to move fast 

(and no I don’t have a position on when the trump announcement is)

I’m just saying, while I like to hold triple digit winners, Rieder is still gaining momentum, ignored by “the experts”, and could be worth holding until next week for the shot at ten bagger.
